Socialization examines the ways we integrate new scholars into our departments, disciplines, and organizations, and explores experiences such as academic preparation, career development, mentoring, and advising.

AGEP STRIDES

Alliance for Graduate Education & the Professoriate (AGEP) Strengthening Training & Resources for Inclusive Data Engineering Sciences (STRIDES) is an NSF initiative that focuses broadly on strategies to promote equity for racially/ethnically minoritized doctoral students and postdoctoral scholars in engineering disciplines pursuing careers in the professoriate. Our research explores the hiring practices of STEM higher education departments to develop evidence-based, inclusive hiring policy and practices.​
